Natal Chart Calculator
Revised . First published .
Your free birth chart with houses, aspects and your big three, worked out in your browser.
Answer the three questions, and your Sun, Moon and rising sign appear first, followed by your full chart.
What your natal chart shows
- First your big three: the Sun, Moon and rising sign on one line
- For each planet, you get its sign, degree and house, an example being 14°23′ Taurus in the 2nd house.
- Your planets' aspects, listed closest first, along with their orbs
- Your chart ruler, plus how your elements and modalities balance
There's no charge, and you don't need to sign up. Astronomy-engine supplies the positions, while the IANA database supplies the time zones, and your browser does the work.

Questions that people ask
What do I need to create my natal chart?
Your birth date, the time listed on your birth certificate and the town where you were born. Your date sets the planets' signs, while the time and place set your rising sign and the houses. Even without a time, you'll still see the planets and which signs they held throughout the day.
Suppose I don't know my birth time?
Select "I don't know". The calculator then shows each planet's sign for the whole day and, if the Moon changed signs, the exact clock time of that change. No rising sign or houses appear, since they shift every few minutes.
What accuracy can you expect from this birth chart calculator?
Planet positions are drawn from the astronomy-engine library, which tracks the VSOP87 planetary theory and stays within about one arcminute of it. Your browser gets time zones and daylight saving from the IANA time zone database. Our accuracy page shows each check we perform.
Among the house systems, which one should I choose?
The default is Placidus, the system most Western astrologers use. The older system, Whole Sign, works at any latitude. If your birthplace lies above about 66 degrees north or south, the chart can't use Placidus. It switches to Porphyry and tells you.
Do you store my birth data?
No. Your browser calculates the chart on its own, and we receive nothing. Only this browser holds the last chart you made, so other pages can display your placements. You can clear it whenever you like.
What does the term "big three" mean?
The three are your Sun sign, your Moon sign and your rising sign. Your core is the Sun, your feelings and needs are the Moon, and the rising sign is the way you meet the world. All three are named first in the results.
